The British Machine Vision Conference (BMVC) is the British Machine Vision Association (BMVA) annual conference on machine vision, image processing, and pattern recognition. It is one of the major international conferences on computer vision and related areas held in the UK. With increasing popularity and quality, it has established itself as a prestigious event on the vision calendar.


Registration for the online conference is now open and this year will be free to attend! Please make sure you register through our online registration page to get access to the conference.

The Virtual Conference

The virtual conference consists of a livestream of the keynotes and oral sessions, with the opportunity for questions and answers with the presenters, as well as poster sessions consisting of pre-recorded videos for all papers as well as interactive discussions with authors over text, audio and video via channels. In addition there will be scheduled activities including the awards ceremony, a report from the conference chairs and a BMVA town hall meeting for future ideas and how to get involved.

Please note that papers for poster presentation are allocated a specific day and will be presented during both morning and afternoon sessions along with the oral papers for the sessions on the same day.


This year’s BMVC will be held virtually over four days with a keynote talks, oral presentation sessions and poster sessions on each day in the traditional single-track format. We are delighted to announce that our four keynote speakers will be Andrew Zisserman, Daphne Koller, Davide Scaramuzza and Katerina Fragkiadaki. Call for Papers

This year BMVC will be held virtually over four days on 22nd - 25th November 2021. We invite papers to be submitted for the conference and ask that potential authors read the call for papers which deatails both the topics of interest for the conference as well as important details on the updated reviewing procedure.

Information for Authors

Please could prospective authors for BMVC papers read through the instructions for authors page that provides details on the requirements and formatting for paper submissions. All papers should be submitted through the CMT website and please remember to note that all papers must submit an abstract with full author information before the abstract deadline.

In addition to reviewing the information on paper formatting (including typesetting style files for PDFLaTeX), page counts and supplemental material, please can all authors ensure that they are familiar with the policies on: dual submission, conflicts & double blind review, publicity & social media, and authors making themselves available to review.
